Upon graduating from high school in 1971 in Collinsville, Virginia Randall entered Virginia Tech in Blacksburg Virginia to study Architecture.  Randall’s father was an artist and he was always drawn to the beauty of  the built environment. He worked part-time at construction jobs during school to help pay is way through college, providing the basis for his exceptional detailing ability. Upon receiving his degree in 1978 Randall moved to Middle Tennessee and started his career with Howard, Neilson, Aldred, Henry and Obrien Architects. Randall worked with a number of other firms before finding his home with the Rufus Johnson Associates team in 1996.  In his role as Project Architect, he has served on countless projects of various type, size and scope.
During his almost 40 years as a registered architect, Randall’s experience includes all aspects of the project including design, detailing, cost estimating, construction administration and 3D drawings.  He understands how attention to detail in all phases of the project leads to a successful project.  His workman like attitude is refreshing and his attention to detail has served our firm well for over 20 years now. He leads the quality control effort and his expertise is widely praised by our clients.
